Terms of Service

1. The Service

Synquesta provides a web application where users can discover quests published by organizations and participate using an authenticated profile. Organizations (after application and approval where required) can create, manage, and publish quests, including media and reward parameters. Some quests rely on blockchain smart contracts, validation on GenLayer-related infrastructure, and EVM-compatible networks for custody and payouts. The Service may display on-chain data and links to third-party explorers; on-chain activity is not controlled by Synquesta alone.

2. Accounts and authentication

Sign-in and account security are provided through Clerk. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is abuse, risk to the Service, or a legal obligation to do so.

3. Wallet linking and on-chain activity

You may link an EVM-compatible wallet to your profile using Sign-In with Ethereum (SIWE) or compatible flows presented in the product. A linked wallet address is stored with your account and may be used to associate participation, subscriptions, and prize-related events with you as described in our Privacy Policy.

Blockchain transactions are irreversible, publicly observable, and subject to network fees, protocol rules, and smart-contract code you interact with. You are solely responsible for your keys, wallet software, and any tokens you send or receive. Synquesta does not custody your private keys. Rewards, refunds, claims, or slashing behaviors depend on deployed contracts and network conditions; we do not guarantee timing, profitability, or availability of any on-chain outcome.

4. Quest participation and subscriptions

Subscribing or participating in a quest may require meeting eligibility rules shown in the product, binding a wallet, and following instructions from the organizing party. Some quests set a minimum platform reputation threshold; others may offer platform-sponsored participation (for example gas or fees covered for eligible actions). Sponsored paths are still subject to the same account, wallet, play-suspension, and reputation rules as self-funded participation. Participation data (including submission content permitted by the quest design) may be processed by the Service and visible to organizers and, where applicable, platform operators for moderation and support. We may revoke access, unpublish quests, or take other moderation steps where needed to comply with law or protect users and the Service.

Some quests use additional payment rails described in sections 5 and 6 below.

5. Payments, gas bank, and payment mediator

On supported EVM networks (for example Base and Base Sepolia), quests may use a shared QuestPaymentMediator contract so that gas-related value moves in native ETH or ERC-20 tokens instead of GEN on GenLayer alone. Two patterns apply:

• Subsidized quests — the organizer may pre-fund a gas bank in GEN (GenLayer QuestBank) and/or via mediator deposits (`depositGasBank*` flows). Participants do not pay per-play gas when subsidization is active and the bank has capacity.
• Non-subsidized quests — when enabled for a quest, participants may pay per-play gas through the mediator (`payNative` / `payToken`) in tokens listed for that quest, or pay GEN on GenLayer where that rail remains available.

For mediator per-play payments, the Service creates a server-side payment intentthat binds a unique payment id to the quest, step, your account, and wallet. You must send the quoted token amount on-chain; the Service verifies payer, token, and amount against the intent before Synquesta's operational wallet submits the corresponding GenLayer intelligent-contract write. Quotes may include a conversion markup between GEN-denominated gas estimates and the payment token shown in the product.

Confirmed on-chain payments to the mediator are generally irreversible. If GenLayer submission fails or is delayed after your EVM payment is verified, recovery is through user-initiated retry flows shown in the product—not automatic refunds from Synquesta. We do not guarantee that every paid action completes on GenLayer within any particular time.

After a subsidized quest ends, unused gas-bank value may be refundable under product rules. GEN QuestBank refunds follow the existing organizer request and claim workflow. Mediator EVM rails follow a separate request and platform-admin release path. Refundable amounts are capped (currently up to ninety percent of eligible remainder, with a ten percent operational fee retained by the platform on release, mirroring GEN gas-bank rules). Mediator refunds are sent on-chain to the wallet that deposited into that rail for the quest, not necessarily to other organization funding addresses shown elsewhere in the product.

6. Prize escrow and monetary referral bonuses

Quest prize pools may be held in EVM escrow contracts linked to a quest. Winners claim through on-chain flows when eligible and within published claim windows. The Service may display escrow and quest intelligent-contract addresses with links to public block explorers.

Organizers may optionally enable a monetary referral bonus funded from a separate reserve on top of the public prize pool (creator opt-in at deploy time). When enabled, eligible referrers who also win the same quest may receive an additional on-chain bonus from that reserve at claim time, according to the deployed escrow and referral-registry contracts. Base winner shares are not reduced by referral bonuses when the reserve was fully funded at setup.

Referral relationships for monetary bonuses are registered on-chain only with platform-issued cryptographic vouchers you obtain through the Service; arbitrary referrer addresses supplied outside that flow are not honored at payout time. Monetary referral bonuses are distinct from platform reputation points earned through the referral program in section 7. Supported networks and registry deployments are shown in the product; features may be unavailable on testnets.

7. Platform reputation and quest access

Synquesta maintains a platform reputation program for users acting as quest players (not for organization agent or quest-authoring activity on the same account). Reputation is an integer score on a fixed scale (currently 0–1000) that summarizes participation history and moderation outcomes. It is not money, cryptocurrency, an investment, a reward balance, or a transferable asset. A higher score does not guarantee quest wins, payouts, or access to every quest.

We calculate reputation off-chain from signals such as: completed quests on your bound wallet, account tenure while you remain eligible for published quests at your score level, wallet binding, quest performance tiers derived from on-chain evaluation scores, administrative penalties, and (when enabled) connected social identities, qualified referrals (reputation points), on-demand asset attestations you initiate, or (when enabled) external attestation signals from supported attestation services. Signal weights and caps are defined in a versioned platform policy that platform administrators may update; material changes may affect future accrual but do not by themselves erase lawfully applied moderation history.

You can review your score, breakdown, and private history in the product (for example at your reputation page). We maintain an append-only ledger of accrual and adjustment lines visible to you and authorized administrators. You may submit a free-text appeal only for penalty lines that are not yet included in an on-chain reputation commit; appeals are reviewed on a best-effort basis with no guaranteed outcome or deadline. You may withdraw an open appeal where the product allows it.

Quest organizers may configure a minimum reputation for entrants. On-chain enforcement applies when you play through smart contracts that read your attested on-chain reputation for your bound wallet. The in-product preview score may differ from your on-chain value until you complete an on-chain claim: you request a claim in the UI and Synquesta's platform wallet writes the attestation to the reputation registry on supported networks. Claims are subject to cooldown and eligibility rules shown in the product. When an on-chain attestation expires, on-chain reputation reads as zero for gating purposes until you claim again with a positive score.

We may impose a play suspension for serious or repeated violations. While suspended, your effective participation score is treated as zero in the product, you cannot claim positive on-chain reputation, and you are blocked from quest play APIs—including sponsored participation—regardless of a quest's minimum reputation setting. Suspensions may be temporary or permanent; temporary suspensions may lift automatically when their term ends, after which you must re-establish eligibility and claim on-chain again where applicable. On-chain registry state may show a blocked score while a suspension is active on-chain.

Administrative penalties reduce your score and remain in your history; they are distinct from play suspension. Relinking a wallet may reset wallet-scoped reputation contributions under product rules; play suspensions and user-scoped penalties generally survive relink. Public blockchain data associated with your wallet address and committed reputation may be visible to anyone; we do not place personal identity data on-chain in the reputation registry.

8. Organizations and moderation

Creating an organization profile may require submitting an application for review by platform administrators. Approval or rejection is at Synquesta's reasonable discretion for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and product quality; it does not constitute an endorsement of any organization's quests or token offerings. Organizations are responsible for their own quests, marketing, and regulatory compliance where applicable.

9. Your content and license

You retain ownership of content you submit (for example profile information, uploads, quest descriptions entered on your behalf, or submissions required by quests). By submitting content to the Service you grant Synquesta a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute that content solely to operate, secure, promote, and improve the Service (including moderation, backups, analytics aggregates, and support). You represent that you have the rights to grant this license.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes, harassment, deception, or to distribute malware.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access, probe, scrape, or overload the Service beyond normal use permitted by robots or API terms.
• Misrepresent affiliation with Synquesta, organizations, or third parties.
• Circumvent security controls, documented rate limits, or wallet-binding requirements (including mandatory identity checks if we introduce them).
• Evade platform reputation requirements, play suspensions, or moderation outcomes (including by relinking wallets, multi-account abuse, or misrepresenting eligibility for sponsored participation or payment intents).

11. Third-party services

The Service integrates authentication, wallets, RPC providers, email delivery, analytics, hosting, storage, blockchain networks, and other vendors. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices; your use constitutes acceptance of relevant third-party terms where required.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION OR THAT QUEST OUTCOMES, REWARDS, OR SMART CONTRACTS WILL BE SECURE FROM LOSS OR ATTACK.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SYNQUESTA AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR BLOCKCHAIN TRANSACTIONS. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID SYNQUESTA FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100). BECAUSE SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, THESE LIMITS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU—ONLY PERMITTED MAXIMUMS APPLY WHERE LEGALLY REQUIRED.

14. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms periodically. Updated Terms will be posted at this URL with an updated revision date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access with or without notice for operational, legal, or security reasons; sections intended to survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Synquesta's operating entity, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, except where prohibited by applicable consumer law.
